On Friday, a New Mexico judge abruptly dismissed the involuntary manslaughter case against Alec Baldwin during his trial, ruling that it cannot be refiled.
Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer’s decision was based on police and prosecutorial misconduct for withholding evidence from the defense regarding the 2021 shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film “Rust.”
In an emotional courtroom scene, Baldwin cried, hugged his two attorneys, gestured towards the front of the court, and then embraced his tearful wife, Hilaria, for 12 seconds. Hilaria is the mother of seven of his eight children. Baldwin left the Santa Fe County courthouse in an SUV without speaking to the media.
